Fog Town.....

Ok so I haven't been writing every day, but I'm getting to it! Was a slow week due to a nuclear war commencement. Luckily the war was ended at the 11th hour of debates on Sat afternoon though. I went at check out the location that I want to shoot my film CRISTAL in. It was in Fontana which is an hour east of Los Angeles. It's a whole other world out there. People talk differently, act differently have a very small town feel, living only an hour away from one of the world's biggest cities. So the house is perfect, not sure how difficult it would be shooting around the family still living there and only having two bedrooms. For a while now I was thinking of if only I could find a house to shoot in, now it's 'oh if only I could find the money'. I wish so badly I could get this film made...but it's not looking good. I've been writing madly... we'll see.. stay tuned.
Here is a picture of my bbq lunch at the local gas station, luckily I'm still alive after eating it.

Thurs and Fri night were a wash. Saturday night we went to the Swell Season concert at the Wiltern. Such a great venue. Glenn Hansard is brilliant. A lot of aristists could take a page out of his book, he short sweet stories between each song were amazing. Here is my favorite song of the night, it wasn't from the film ONCE, which everyone should see, but a cover of a song I've never heard by Michelle Shocked.

Sunday I caught a free screening of DIVING BELL AND THE BUTTERFLY.

Now the film was fanstastic. Solid Solid filmmaking, some great great visuals, all performances were pitch perfect. But I did not feel emotionally invested. The Q&A with Oscar winning writer Ronald Hardwood was fantastic. He talked about keeping the car scene (you'll see) until the end. I think perhaps not knowing him before his accident we, as an audience, we'rent able to become invested. Something I think will be the complete opposite in Cristal. Had some lovely Baja action, some great wall action then more writing on Sunday afternoon. Thus turning out to be a fine weekend.
